May 3rd, 2013. Philadelphia. – St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Philadelphia was in full attendance last night. Good Friday was celebrated by Orthodox communities around the world. In Philadelphia, the St. George community commemorated the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary on this spring evening with it’s annual tradition of the Epitafio being carried down 8th street.

The procession took them around the block and back in to the church in single file underneath the Epitafio. There, they were met by Father Costa where they performed the sign of the cross and kissed the Bible Father Costa held. St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral Easter services continue all week long, and concludes on Sunday morning.
