Cherry Hill, NJ – St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church proved once again that it can host a great event. Its four-day Greek Festival, called the “Agora,” attracted thousands of visitors, even as rain threatened to dampen the festivities.
By Saturday night, not a single table was available, and the lines for food stretched seemingly a mile long. Youth dance groups performed well into the night, while guests gathered under the large tents filling the church parking lot, eating and enjoying live Greek music.
“We’re doing the best we can to keep up, but we’re simply understaffed to handle a crowd this large,” said St. Thomas Church President Constantine Horiatis.
The annual event, which features homemade Greek food, dancing, games, and live music, usually draws between 20,000 and 30,000 visitors, and this year was no different.
